Keyword DNA™ is our proprietary software which allows Local Connect to determine linked associations for each business, so that we can display relevant businesses for a search request.

12. How does Local Connect decide what listing to show me first?

Our algorithm and proprietary Keyword DNA™ determine which businesses are the most relevant to a specific search request. The most relevant and geographically local businesses are displayed first.

13. Can I set a default location in Local Connect?

Yes, simply click on the "set my address" link located on the search results page and enter your address. Local Connect will remember this location as your default location the next time you visit Local Connect. The website administrator can also set a default location in the Local Connect administration page, this location will be used if a site visitor does not enter a geo-modifier in the "WHERE" box.

14. How does Local Connect get information about all the businesses and services in my area?

Local Connect sources its information from national business-to-business list compilers, data obtained by our web crawler, and information supplied by our affiliated partners.

15. What is SEND TO MOBILE DEVICE?

This feature allows you to send the search result to your mobile device. Note: Local Connect does not charge you to use "SEND TO MOBILE DEVICE." However, your wireless provider's standard rates for text messages will apply. Check with your carrier for further information.

16. Do you sell user information gathered through Local Connect?

We do not rent or sell any personal information.

17. Can I add, edit or customize the listing for my business?

Yes. Using Local Promote which is available for a low monthly fee, merchants have 24-hour editorial access to their own business listing.
